"Rocks Rock! Geology of Illinois" at the La Salle Library

On Saturday, July 21st at 10:00 a.m. the La Salle Public Library will host University of Illinois Extension Office facilitator, Meg Overrocker, when she presents, "Rocks Rock! Geology of Illinois." 

In this fascinating program, especially for ages 9 through 11 years, and their families, learn about the rocks, minerals and fossils of Illinois.  Meg will provide insights into geology, and explain why the landscape of Illinois looks the way it does.   Meg will give examples of where families can view geologic landscape at nearby locations and will give youth and families an opportunity to have a hands-on experience with various rocks, minerals and fossils.

This program is free and open to the public.   Please plan to arrive early because of parking.  Additional parking can be found on Marquette or in Trinity Catholic Academy lot.  The La Salle Public Library is located at 305 Marquette Street.   For more information is please call the Library at 815-223-2341.
