"Our Land Between the Rivers: Illinois in Story and Song"

On Tuesday, September 11th at 6:00 p.m., the La Salle Public Library will host Singer, Songwriter, and Historian, Barry Cloyd, when he presents, "Our Land Between the Rivers: Illinois in Story and Song".  

In this Bicentennial program, Cloyd will transport his audience back in time to the Illiniwek Nation of the Illinois Country, and will musically move forward through the French Period, which is French Voyageurs - the first Europeans, the British, and eventually, the Americans.  From the 1600s through the Revolutionary War, to today, this unique program will use song to celebrate and reflect on Illinois' history, both distinguished and tragic, and serve as a reminder of some of Illinois' notables.  Told through lyrics of the periods, Illinois amazing history will be presented with voice, guitars, banjo, Dobro, and a selection of string instruments.
