Part nostalgic toy, part Illinois history, the Sock Monkey remains today, a beloved companion for kids, young and old.   In this unique, informative presentation, find out why Rockford is an important part of Sock Monkey history and the importance of the Nelson Knitting Company to the community and the textile industry-and to the many parents and grandparents who created Sock Monkeys for their families.

This program is free and open to the public and is made possible through funding by the Alwin C. Carus trust.   The La Salle Public Library is located at 305 Marquette, La Salle.
