"I am a Scientist" Youth Program at La Salle Public Library
On Saturday, January 26th, at 2:00 p.m., the Library will host "Spa Science." Think all those bubbles and fizz are just silly extras in the bath? How about lotions and soaps-how do they work and why? All of these everyday products are real science! Who knew that the bathroom could be a cool science lab?
In this program, participants will explore how simple chemicals combine to produce something altogether new and useful. Children will discover acid-base reactions and miscibility and will formulate skin lotions, soaps, bath bombs, and lip balm, all to take home.
"I am a Scientist! - Spa Science" is free, open to the public, but requires registration, and is limited to 20 children, ages 4 and up, with a parent or an adult caregiver. This approximately hour-long program is designed to provide children with fun hands-on science learning that gives children confidence to explore and discover. Children under the age of 8 years old must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
For more information or to register, please call the Library at 815-223-2341.
