"Honey Bee Challenge....Are You Ready?" at the La Salle Public Library

Where:
La Salle Public Library

When
Tuesday, July 30, 2019

On Tuesday, July 30th, at 11:30 a.m. the La Salle Public Library will host the "Honey Bee Challenge."

Facilitated by Toni Pienta and Brent Sancken from the La Salle County 4-H, this hands-on science program, especially for youth ages 10 through 14 years, brings together life science, robotics, and problem-solving.  Designed as a group activity, teams of young scientists will create a simple "bee-bot" using a bristle bot kit and will learn about the many important contributions of the Honey Bees.   Using that knowledge, teams will design the most productive foraging routes where their "bee bots" will collect "honey" (glitter!).   Temas will consider and incorporate a number of factors in planning the best routes to help their bee-bots forage.

This program is free and open to the public but does require registration and is limited to 15 participants.   Registration deadline is Monday, July 29th, at 6:00 p.m.  For more information, please call the Library at 815-223-2341 or visit the Library's website or Facebook page for online registration.   The La Salle Public Library is located at 305 Marquette Rd., La Salle.
