Follow the Great American 2017 Solar Eclipse at the La Salle Library
On Monday, August 21st, beginning at 11:00 a.m., the La Salle Public Library will host a Shared Solar Eclipse Experience. The community is invited to experience both La Salle's Hometown Eclipse - a fantastic 90% Solar Eclipse - outdoors, while also enjoying NASA's amazing live coverage of the Total Solar Eclipse via multi-site broadcast.
From 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. the Library will host "Through NASA's Eyes Eclipse Across America," a live, large projection broadcast offering amazing images taken before, during, and after the eclipse, using 11 spacecraft, at least three NASA aircraft, more than 50 high-altitude balloons, and astronauts aboard the International Space Station, each offering a unique view of the event.
The Library will have areas available outdoors, so bring your lawn chair, a sack snack and your solar eclipse glasses. Experience this awe-inspiring event with friends and neighbors, and people across the nation. Beverages will be furnished. This is a free program, open to the public. For more information contact the Library at 815-223-2341.
