"Socially Distanced Holiday Gift Book Giveaway" at La Salle Public Library

On Saturday, December 12th, between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. the La Salle Public Library staff invites families to celebrate the holiday season with the Library's Holiday Gift Book Giveaway - free, new gift books for kids of all ages.   The giveaway, free and open to the public, will take place entirely outdoors - dress for the weather - and will be socially distanced, with everyone properly wearing masks.  

The line will form at the Library's parking lot and will extend back towards Third Street and Marquette, then north along along Marquette.  Books will be handed out at both utility doors, located on the west (parking lot) side of the building.   Families are asked to observe social distancing, properly wear a mask, and to stay together as a family unit.   Volunteers will be on hand to direct the flow of traffic to ensure safety and to help move the process along quickly.  

In the event of inclement weather and/or if a library staff member test positive for COVID-19, the holiday book giveaway will be postponed. To ensure the safety of event attendees, the library parking lot and book drop lane will be closed to vehicle traffic from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
