NOTICE OF SALE OF PROPERTY

OWNED BY THE CITY OF LASALLE,

AND INVITATION TO BID THEREON

 

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Corporate Authorities of the City of La Salle will receive sealed bids for the potential purchase, under successful bid, of the City of La Salle’s interest in the following parcels of real property, subject to the City of La Salle reserving in connection with said potential sale, the right to reserve and protect any utility rights and easements as may exist in regard to the respective parcels of real estate, which bids should be separate as to each parcel of real estate, said parcels of real estate including the following:

 

  1. Real property commonly known 1437 Crosat Street, La Salle, IL, which property is presently used as vacant land and zoned R-2 (Single Family Residence), which property having a LaSalle County real estate parcel number of 18-10-408-032 is more particularly described as follows:

 

The East Half of all that part of the South Sixty (S. 60) feet of Lot Sixty-Eight (68) in Cowey’s Subdivision of Lot Two (2) in the Southeast Quarter (SE ¼) of Section Ten (10) in Township Thirty-Three (33) North and in Range One (1) in the said City of La Salle lying East of the east line of Tonti Street, in said City of La Salle, excepting the underlying coal and mining rights as heretofore severed from the fee, situated in the County of La Salle and State of Illinois.

 

  1. Real property commonly known as 446 Joliet Street, La Salle, IL, (which will require a variance to build) which property is presently used as vacant land and zoned R-4 (Multiple-Dwelling) which property having a La Salle County real estate parcel number of 18-15-239-015 is more particularly described as follows:

 

The South Fifty-Two (S. 52) feet and West Thirty-Two Point Four (W. 32.4) feet of Lot Four (4) and the South Fifty-Two (S. 52) feet of Lot Five (5) in Block Seventy-Nine (79) of Section Fifteen (15) in Township Thirty-Three (33) North and in Range One (1) in the said City of La Salle, excepting the underlying coal and mining rights as heretofore severed from the fee, situated in the County of La Salle and State of Illinois.

 

  1. Real property commonly known as 853 9th Street, La Salle, IL which property is presently used as vacant land and zoned R-3 (Two Family Residence), which property having a La Salle County real estate parcel number of 18-15-201-025 is more particularly described as follows:

 

Part of Lots One (1) and Two (2) in the Subdivision of Block 6 commencing at the Southeast corner of Lot One (1) thence West along the South line of Lot One (1), a distance of Thirty-Seven (37) feet to the Point of Beginning, thence North Sixty (60) feet, thence West Forty-Nine (49) feet, thence South Sixty (60) feet, thence East Forty-Nine (49) feet to the Point of Beginning in Township Thirty-Three (33) North and in Range One (1) in the said City of La Salle, excepting the underlying coal and mining rights as heretofore severed from the fee, situated in the County of La Salle and State of Illinois.

 

Bids for the potential purchase as to the aforesaid City of La Salle’s interest in each of the above-described parcels of real estate are hereby invited and will be received at the City Clerk’s Office at LaSalle City Hall, 745 Second Street, LaSalle, IL 61301 between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and until 3:00 p.m. on May 19, 2025 date for the opening of bids. Said proposals shall be addressed to:

Any bids sent by mail must be received by 3:00 p.m. on May 19, 2025.

 

Each parcel of real estate shall be bid separately, and each bid shall bear the legend “Proposal – Sale of (proposed premises),” together with the bid amount, and the name, address and phone number of the bidder. The bidder must provide a proposed plan regarding the intended use of the premises, which business plan should include a proposed timeline regarding completion of the intended use, if applicable.

 

All bids will be publicly opened at 3 p.m. Central Standard Time on May 19, 2025 in the City Council Chambers at La Salle City Hall, 745 2nd Street, La Salle, Illinois 61301. Any potential sale of said parcel shall be “as is” and again also be subject to the reservation by the City of LaSalle of the City of LaSalle’s rights and interest in regard to any utilities in reference to the existing premises.

 

In regard to said parcels which shall be again bid and considered by the City Council of the City of LaSalle separately, a contract may be awarded to the highest responsive bidder whose bid in regard to said parcel of real estate is found to be in the best interests of the City of LaSalle.  The City Council of the City of LaSalle, the Corporate Authorities of the City of LaSalle, also reserves the right to reject any and/or all and/or a portion of the bids and to further waive any informalities or irregularities in the bidding.  The Corporate Authority, the City Council of the City of LaSalle, also reserves the rights to review and study any and all bids to make a determination within ninety days after the bids have been opened by public read as to whether to award a contract with such conditions as the City Council deems appropriate in regard to any bid and/or to reject any and/or all of the bids.

 

Copies of the bidding documents may be obtained at the office of the City Clerk of the City of LaSalle.
