"The War to end War" at the La Salle Library
On Tuesday, November 13th at 6:00 p.m., the La Salle Public Library will host Historian, Victor Croasdale, when he presents, "The War to end War."
This year marks the 100th commemoration of the end of World War I, the Armistice of Compiegne, which came into force at 11:00 a.m. Paris time on 11 November, 1918, "the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month." First known as Armistice Day in many countries touched by World War I, the commemoration, since 1954, has been known in America as Veterans Day. In this history presentation, Croasdale will discuss the geopolitical events leading up the Great War, the major events of the war and Versailles Treaty.
