Public Notice Regarding Request for Special Use Permit

Notice is hereby given that the City of La Salle Planning Commission will hold a public hearing in the La Salle City Council Chambers at 745 Second Street, La Salle, Illinois, on the 27th day of August, 2026 at 5:30 p.m. At that time, potentially amongst other things, the request and petition of LaSalle-Peru Township High School District #120, through its appropriate representatives, including, but not limited to, Clayton J. Theisinger, Superintendent, in regard to the premises commonly known as in the vicinity of the southeast corner of 6th Street and Creve Coeur Street in the City of LaSalle, LaSalle, Illinois, including premises also commonly known as 536, 546, 548, and 556 Creve Coeur Street, LaSalle, Illinois (hereinafter the “premises”), which petition and application is for the issuance of a Special Use Permit related to the proposed operation and use related to education, including the providing of practical hands-on learning environment in the animal and veterinary sciences, including the keeping of livestock and certain other animals on the premises, and related endeavors at the “premises”. Said premises as a whole are presently zoned R-3 Two Family Residence as said terms have been defined and interpreted under the City of LaSalle Zoning Ordinance, and were until recently vacant and presently are in part in use for educational purposes and related endeavors, and are in part vacant, which real estate, including all improvements thereon, and appurtenances thereto are located in the City of La Salle, County of La Salle and State of Illinois, are more particularly described as follows:

Lots 4, 5 and 6 of Block 68 in the original town of LaSalle, Section 15, Township 33 North, Range 1 East of the Third Principal Meridian, except coal and minerals and the right to mine and remove the same.

That in regard to said premises the LaSalle County Real Estate PINs involved are as follows:

18-15-136-015, 18-15-136-001, 18-15-136-016, and 18-15-136-006.

 

At the time of the Planning Commission Hearing, which will be conducted in accordance with applicable law, all interested persons will be provided an opportunity to be heard, and all parties and all witnesses called may be examined and cross examined in accord with applicable law; at which hearing the City of La Salle Planning Commission will take such action and make such recommendations as the Planning Commission deems appropriate in accordance with the applicable law in such proceedings.
