"NASA GLOBE Observer Citizen Science Pilot Program" at the La Salle Public Library
The La Salle Public Library has been selected by the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) as one of six national library test sites to pilot activities and resources related to NASA's GLOBE Observer program, an international network of citizen scientists and scientists. These hands-on activities, investigations, and resources will involve three subject areas: Mosquito Habitats, Clouds and Land Cover.
The GLOBE Mosquito Habitat will be offered, as Part 1 and Part 2, on Tuesdays, April 2nd and 16th at 6:30 p.m. OR on Thursdays, April 11th and April 25th at 6:30 p.m. Part 3 will be offered, collectively, on Saturday, April 13th at 9:30 a.m.
GLOBE Clouds will be offered on Saturday, April 6th at 10:00 a.m. and on Saturday, May 11th at 10:00 a.m.
GLOBE Land Cover will be offered on Saturday, April 20th at 10:00 a.m.
All programs and activities are free and open to the public. These programs are for children 8 and older and adults. Registration is required as space is limited.
