"Life on the Missouri River - a Virtual Program" at La Salle Public Library

On Tuesday, September 22nd, at 6:00 p.m. the La Salle Public Library will host Illinois Historian and World Traveler, John Lynn, when he presents virtually "Life on the Missouri River".   

The sprawling, brawling Missouri River flows 2,321 miles from its origin at Three Forks, Montana to the Mississippi River.   Along the way, it has been the river of Native people, Lewis and Clark, traders, trappers, mountain men, homesteaders, cavalry posts, cattle barons, flatboats and steamboats, gold and silver rushes, oil and gas booms, and now sport fishermen and paddlers.   In this "armchair travel" virtual presentation, explore America's longest river with John Lynn and experience the adventure of paddling all 2,321 miles of "The Big Muddy" through Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, and Missouri.   At the end of the presentation, John will answer audience questions via live chat.   

John Lynn of Peoria has photographed all 2,400 Illinois cities, villages, and towns.   He has also hiked, biked, and canoed enough historic and scenic trails, roads, and rivers in North America and Britain to circle the globe.  He has now shared his experiences with over 4,000 audiences in three countries.
