Coco Chanel: A Living History

On Tuesday, May 22nd at 6:00 p.m., the La Salle Public Library will host Annette Baldwin in her historical portrayal of Coco Chanel.  Entertaining and informative, this presentation introduces the audience to one of the 20th Century's top ten tycoons and the most influential designer of all time.  - Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel.   Mademoiselle Chanel came on the fashion scene with the revolutionary idea that women's clothing should be comfortable and uncomplicated.  A powerful, self-made woman, Chanel was a trailblazer in both fashion and business.   What we know as classic-styling today, originated with Chanel, and is the reason that she is copied more than any other fashion designer in history.   Annette's portrayal of women in history have been seen by audiences in 19 states, as well as at the National Museum of American History at the Smithsonian Institute.
