"I am a Scientist"
February "I am a Scientist" at the La Salle Public Library is especially for children, ages 4 through 9, with a parent or adult caregiver. These approximately hour-long programs are designed to provide children with fun hands-on science learning that gives children the confidence to explore and discover.
On Saturday, February 17th at 10:00 a.m., the Library will host Valentine's Chemistry. Red and pink have never been so outrageous! With Valentine's Chemistry, participants will produce a considerable exothermic reaction with Pink Elephant toothpaste, learn about polymers by creating Sparkling Valentine's slime. This program requires registration. Participants who wear red and green will get a sweet surprise. The program is limited to 25 kids.
On Saturday, February 17th at 11:00 a.m. the Library will host an encore presentation of "Who Froze Batman?" This "sleuthing with forensics" program sets kids to solve the crime of the frozen caped crusader. Using fingerprint identification, chromatography fiber analysis, and black lights to see what otherwise cannot be seen, kids solve the crime. This program requires registration and is limited to 25 kids. Pizza will be served.
