"Doodle Rocks: Rock Painting at the La Salle Public Library"

Where:
La Salle Public Library

When
Saturday, March 16, 2019

On Saturday, March 16th, the La Salle Public Library will host Home Depot in offering two free rock painting workshops for youth ages 4 and up.

In these creative art workshops, youth are encouraged to let their imaginations soar.   Participants can paint geometric designs, words of kindness or encouragement, colorful scenes, whimsical animals, favorite characters, or take advantage of the unique shapes of stones by painting the entire surface to look like bees, beetles, cactus, cats, feathers, fish, foxes, hippos, hedgehogs, ice cream cones with cherries on top, igloos, owls, pandas, penguins, piggies, pizzas, turtles, and tigers, to name just a few.   The sky is the limit and kids can paint that, too!

All supplies will be supplied by the Home Depot.  Participants will receive a Certificate of Achievement and a commemorative pin, courtesy of the Home Depot, a gift book, courtesy of First Book, and a take-home snack, courtesy of District 122 La Salle schools.

The workshop will be offered at 2:00 p.m. and again, at 3:00 p.m.  Both sessions are free, open to the public, but require registration, as space is limited to 30 participants per session.   Children under the age of 8 years must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.   All parents are welcome, and encouraged to participate in the fun; some children may need help with reading/following directions.

For more information or to register, contact the Library at 815-223-2341.
