Carus Chemical Fire Testing Results

Three different organizations, to our current knowledge, have conducted testing following the Carus Chemical Fire.

La Salle hired a third-party environmental engineer and their results are attached here.

Residents also contacted the Sierra Club and their results are included here.

This testing information is being shared with all residents so that they can understand the testing that has been done following the fire. At this time, the US EPA, IEPA and IDPH have not determined a need for further community testing, outside of the Carus Chemical Plant cleanup. Those with continued health concerns can reach out to the Illinois Department of Public Health at dph.tox@illinois.gov.
