Economic Development Director
Katherine Koyaikwas born and raised in LaSalle-Peru. After graduating from St. Bede Academy she attended the University of Iowa where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communications with certificates in Non-Profit Management and Fundraising/Philanthropy. Katherine started her career at the American Cancer Society where she worked in development as a Relay For Life Specialist. She moved forward in her career at the Cancer Society as a Development Specialist and eventually a Sr. Development Manager in Chicago. Katherine then took her talents to the American Heart Association as a Development Director working with top business leaders to secure large individual and corporate gifts.
In the Spring of 2017 Katherine set out to find a career back in the Illinois Valley. She brings skills in sales, communications, and development to the City of LaSalle as the Economic Development Director. Katherine works on bringing large industry leaders to the area as well as small businesses to the growing Downtown LaSalle. Katherine is excited to be back home where she can use her skills to help her community flourish.
