Library offers free 3D design courses for ages 11 to 14

Thanks to a generous grant from Project Next Generation, an opportunity offered by the Illinois Secretary of State, Jesse White, the LaSalle Public Library will offer “I Speak 3D 3.0,” a distance-learning, web-based program, especially for youth, ages 11 through 14.

Registration for the program begins on Monday, November 1st and will conclude on Monday, November 15th.  The program begins on Monday, November 22nd and will include four weeks of project-based learning that will consist of participant independent and mentored learning.  Participants, using Tinkercad, will learn basic 3D design and concepts, which they will use to design four objects that will be printed on the Library’s 3D printers.

I Speak 3D 3.0 is free and open to the public.  Requirements are any type of computer or iOS tablet and an internet connection.  A limited number of tablets are available for youth who do not have access to a device. To register, please email Rachael Blomquist, Program Mentor, at remotelearning@lasalle.lib.il.us or call the Library at 815-223-2341.  The LaSalle Public Library is located at 305 Marquette Street, LaSalle, and is ADA compliant and welcoming.
