LaSalle Boys Baseball, Football, and Girls Softball

Tobacco Compliance

The La Salle Police Department receives an annual grant from Illinois Tobacco Compliance Act. Compliance checks are done several times a year at businesses that sell tobacco products. Due to these checks, local businesses have had a near perfect record which helps keep our youth Tobacco Free.

Additionally, on September 12th, 2005, the City of La Salle passed Ordinance #1931, making it unlawful for any person under 18 years of age to possess tobacco products.

Child Fingerprint Kits

Child fingerprint kits are available free of charge at the La Salle Police Department for any individual that wants to keep a file for their children. The kit includes a section for a current photograph, medical history, dental records, DNA, and fingerprints. The kit is filled out by the parents who then keep the kit in a safe place and is only given to the police when the child is deemed missing.

Project Childsafe/Gun Lock Giveaway

The La Salle Police Department is dedicated to the safety of all our citizens. We offer FREE gun locks to residents of the City of La Salle (while supplies last).

Safe Babies, Safe Place, Safe Haven

The La Salle Police Department is an Illinois Safe Haven for desperate parents in crisis. By handing your unharmed baby, up to 30 days old, to personnel at the police station, you can walk away with no questions asked.

Chad Stickers

Children Have an Identity, or CHAD stickers are available free of charge to La Salle residents at the La Salle Police Department for child safety seats and bicycles. This program was developed as the result of a traffic crash involving a 13-month-old boy named Chad. The babysitter who had been driving was killed. Chad was injured, but no one at the scene knew his identity. Only because an emergency room nurse recognized him could his parents be quickly located and his injuries treated. To ensure rapid identification of your child in such an emergency, fill out the sticker and place it on the right corner (child’s right) under the cushion or center back of your child’s safety seat. CHAD stickers for bikes were created for similar reasons. Place this sticker under the bike seat or inside of a helmet so your child can be quickly identified in an emergency.

Test My Teen

The La Salle Police Department has joined with Test My Teen to provide parents with an effective means to test their teens for drug use/abuse through a FREE home drug test initiative. Through various programs over the years, we have tried to educate kids to “just say no” to drugs. Even good kids can make poor decisions and sometimes parents have tough questions to ask their children.

For a year, police have been the first to know when local kids used drugs while their parents were often the last to know. To help answer parents questions and concerns, Test My Teen has provided the La Salle Police Department with $5000.00 worth of FREE at home drug test vouchers. Parents must go to their website:
www.testmyteen.com and:

  • Go to the Products page
  • Add a single Noble Medical 10 panel drug test kit to your cart from the products page
  • Click on the “Update Prices” button
  • Enter the discount code of 4X4C4
  • Finish your transaction, and you will be sent an email confirmation
  • The test kit is mailed in non-descriptive packaging to protect privacy. (Limit: on per family)

Again, parents must include the discount code of 4X4C4 to obtain their free ten-panel drug test kit. All they pay for is shipping and handling.
