This is an exciting time for the City of LaSalle, as it seems new businesses are opening just about every month! This webpage will be used to announce commercial grand openings and other business development news.

Business News

  • A new pilates studio has opened in LaSalle! Sculpt Your Core, owned by Alicia Bolin, is located at 851 1st Street. Both private and group classes will be offered. Check out their website at www.sculptyourcore.com. Welcome to LaSalle!

  • We are pleased to announce construction of a new Unytite plant in LaSalle, which will be located in the northwest part of the City, on Civic Road immediately west of the Flying J plaza. A groundbreaking ceremony was held Wednesday, May 7, 2014, with representatives from Unytite, including Yuji "OJ" Ozeki, Executive VP; Atsushi Hashimoto, Sales Manager/Director; and Chuck Hundley, General Manager. Mayor Jeff Grove and all 8 Aldermen were also present. The estimated $11M project will result in a 120,000 square foot facility, which is expected to be fully operational by this time next year, and will keep 22 jobs within the Illinois Valley.   • As of Thursday, March 13th, The Pink Chihuahua ("The Art of Food") will be open for business at 633 First Street. The restaurant features tapas (small bites), salads, wraps, paninis, angus and kobe burgers, flatbread pizza, and full dinner entrees. They are open for lunches and dinners Wednesdays through Saturday, and offer brunch on Sundays.
     
  • On Friday, October 18, White Trash Gallery opened at 139 Gooding Street. The Gallery features artwork by “White Trash Peg,” as well as other artists from in and around the region. The space is shared with Kristine’s Shower, a business specializing in bath and skincare products.

  • CNJ Style, which previously operated as an online business out of Tonica, has opened a storefront at 733 First Street. The store features the latest in women's fashions, including clothing, footwear, and accessories.

  • Mr. J’s Hot Dogs and Gyros opened a restaurant at 602 First Street. This is their third location in the area; the other restaurants are in Ottawa and Streator.
