The Comptroller's Office is located in the west wing of City Hall. When parking on 2nd Street, enter the building through the west doors (canopy.) The cashier's window is inside the main lobby and on the left.

 

What We Do

The Comptroller's Office has many functions including the preparation of the City Budget, processing payroll for all City employees. Accounts payable processes all payments to vendors for the City. Accounts receivable issues invoices to customers for services the City provides. All fixed assets the City owns are also tracked and tagged by staff in the Comptroller. The Comptroller's Office handles all City Parking Permits and Lots. 

The Comptoller's Office is responsible for issuing pet owner licenses and renting parking spaces in city parking lots. 

 

Garbage and Waste

As of March 13, 2006, the city of LaSalle has adopted a new garbage ordinance. Under the new ordinance, residents may place two 32-gallon garbage receptacles with lids at the curb. Additional receptacles may be placed at the curb as long as a sticker is placed on the bag. Stickers are available at the following locations:                       

  • Illinois Valley Foods               
  • Save-a-lot                              
  • Jewel                                     
  • Econo Foods                           
  • Herrcke's Hardware 

Materials that may be placed curbside for pickup include:

  • Kitchen waste such as cans, bottles, and food products                                  
  • Cartons, boxes, newspapers, magazines, toys, clothing, and similar materials                      
  • Branches that do not exceed 3" in diameter and are bundled in biodegradable twine

Additionally, residents are allowed to place one large item that may be handled by one person at the curbside for regular pickup each week.

 

Garbage and Recycling Pickup Schedule

  • Monday - North of 11th St to West of St. Vincent Ave                                 
  • Tuesday - South of 11th St and West of Joliet St                           
  • Wednesday - North of 11th St and East of St. Vincent Ave                  
  • Thursday - South of 11th Street and East of Joliet St additionally, garbage is collected in the area of the City lying East of the Little Vermilion River

How are sewer charges calculated?

Sewer charges are based on water usage. If you use 10cf of water, you will be billed for 10cf in sewer.

How much sales tax do I pay in LaSalle?

aSalle's sales tax will increase from 6.5 % to 7.0 %

Where can I pay my water bill?

Bills may be paid in the following ways: 

Direct Debit (ACH): deducts your monthly water bill payment from a specified checking account automatically. Mail in: mail your payment with the statement stub sent to you with your bill. Drop off: you can drop off your payments at the City Hall cashiers area, in the 24 hour drop-box located inside the south-east side of City Hall (entrance closest to Turk Furniture.), or in the 24 hour drop-box located in the parking lot at the north side of the building between City Hall and Eureka Bank. In Person: LaSalle State Bank or Hometown Bank.
